Lesson Presentation
| Time | Teacher’s Activities | Students’ Activities |
|---|---|---|
| 5 minutes | Reviews the previous lesson by asking students to define a database, DBMS, table, record and field. | Answer questions and recall key database concepts. |
| 10 minutes | Explains practical database management and demonstrates how to create and save a simple database. | Observe the demonstration and identify the main steps. |
| 15 minutes | Demonstrates creating a student table, defining fields and entering sample records. Explains how to add, edit and delete records carefully. | Create or outline a student table and practise entering and editing sample records. |
| 15 minutes | Explains queries and demonstrates selecting fields and setting a simple criterion, such as displaying only SSS 1 students. | Identify the purpose of a query and practise or describe how to retrieve selected records. |
| 15 minutes | Demonstrates generating and previewing a simple report using a table or query. | Create or outline a simple class-list report and explain its usefulness. |
| 10 minutes | Guides students through a practical task: create a database, make a table, run a simple query and prepare a report. | Perform the task individually or in small groups, depending on available computers. |
| 10 minutes | Evaluates students through oral and practical questions, corrects errors and summarises the lesson. | Answer questions, demonstrate understanding and record the assignment. |
Total Duration: 80 minutes
