Previous Knowledge / Entry Behaviour

Students have previously learned about digital media and graphic design with Canva. They have experience identifying and arranging text, images, colours and other visual elements in digital designs.

3. Basic Photo Editing The teacher demonstrates simple photo-editing operations such as cropping, resizing, adjusting brightness and applying suitable enhancements. Students observe the demonstration and practise simple editing operations on a sample photograph.
4. Online Design Tools The teacher introduces online tools that can be used for photo editing and digital design. The teacher demonstrates how an image can be uploaded and edited using an online tool. Students observe the demonstration and practise using an available online design or photo-editing tool.
5. Images for Branding The teacher explains how businesses, organisations and individuals use images, logos and other visual elements to create a recognizable identity. Students identify familiar logos and branded images and discuss how images help people recognize a brand.
6. Images for Communication The teacher explains how images can communicate information, attract attention and support written messages. The teacher displays examples of posters, advertisements and awareness graphics. Students examine the examples and explain the messages communicated by the images.
7. Practical Activity The teacher gives students a practical task to edit a sample photograph and prepare it for a simple communication or branding purpose. The teacher supervises and provides assistance. Students edit the photograph, make appropriate adjustments and prepare their completed image.
8. Conclusion The teacher reviews the meaning of photo editing, basic editing operations, online design tools and the use of images in branding and communication. Students answer review questions and explain what they have learned.
