1. Define digital technology in simple terms.
2. Explain the importance of digital technology in modern life.
3. Identify common digital devices used at home, school and in the community.
4. State at least five uses of digital technology.
5. Describe how selected digital devices help people perform everyday activities.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE / ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

Students have seen or used common electronic devices such as mobile phones, televisions, computers, tablets and digital cameras. However, they may not yet understand the meaning of digital technology or how these devices are classified as digital devices.

Step 1: Introduction	Shows students a smartphone, tablet or computer and asks questions such as: "What is this device?", "Have you used one before?", and "What can it be used for?" The teacher uses the responses to introduce the topic.	Observe the devices, identify them and respond to the teacher's questions based on their previous experiences.
Step 2: Meaning of Digital Technology	Explains that digital technology involves the use of electronic devices and systems to create, process, store, retrieve and share information. Gives familiar examples such as smartphones, computers and tablets.	Listen attentively, ask questions and write the meaning of digital technology and important examples in their notebooks.
Step 3: Importance of Digital Technology	Discusses the importance of digital technology in communication, education, business, banking, healthcare, transportation, entertainment, information storage and access to online services.	Mention examples of how digital technology is used in their homes, schools and communities. Participate in class discussion.
Step 4: Examples of Digital Devices	Displays real devices or pictures of smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, digital cameras, smart televisions, digital watches, ATMs, printers and scanners. Explains the basic function of each device.	Identify the devices, state their names and explain one use of each device.
Step 5: Class Activity	Displays different digital devices or pictures and asks students to identify each device and state its function.	Work individually or in groups to identify the devices and state their functions.
Step 6: Evaluation & Summary	Summarizes the lesson and asks oral and written questions to determine whether students understand the meaning, importance and examples of digital technology.	Answer the evaluation questions, ask questions where necessary and participate in the lesson summary.

TEACHER'S REFLECTION

The teacher should assess whether students were able to explain the meaning of digital technology, identify common digital devices and describe their importance in everyday life. Areas that students found difficult should be revised before proceeding to the next topic.
