Students encountered basic poultry production and mortality records in Week 2 and understand that tracking farm events helps prevent losses.

PRESENTATION STEPS

Step Teacher's Activity Students' Activity
Step 1: Introduction Introduces the lesson by asking students how shopkeepers or bank managers track money and items to avoid losses. Respond by explaining the use of receipts, record books, and accounting ledgers.
Step 2: Importance of Records Defines livestock record keeping and outlines its benefits (calculating profit/loss, planning, securing loans, culling decisions). Listen attentively and record the benefits of farm records in their notebooks.
Step 3: Types of Records Explains distinct record categories: Production, Feed, Health/Mortality, Breeding, Inventory, and Financial records. Observe sample record charts and identify which information goes into each specific record type.
Step 4: Practical Exercise Draws a sample financial/sales record sheet on the chalkboard and guides students through populating it with mock farm data. Copy the sample format into exercise books and calculate total daily income and expenses.
Step 5: Evaluation & Summary Summarizes key points on the board and asks review questions to check comprehension. Answer evaluation questions orally and write down homework instructions.
