BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

1. Define livestock farming in their own words accurately.
2. List and explain at least five benefits/importance of livestock farming to humans and the economy.
3. Classify common farm animals into ruminants, non-ruminants, and poultry with local examples.

INSTRUCTIONAL / TEACHING AIDS

• Wall charts showing various farm animals (cattle, goats, pigs, chickens).
• Real specimens or pictures of livestock products (eggs, leather belt, milk carton, feathers, wool).
• Short video clips or slide presentations showing a modern livestock farm.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE / ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

Students are already familiar with domestic animals kept around houses and farms such as goats, sheep, chickens, and dogs.

PRESENTATION STEPS

Step 3: Importance	Displays livestock product specimens (leather, eggs, bone meal) and guides discussion on the benefits to humans and industry.	Examine specimens and contribute by listing items at home made from animal products.
Step 4: Classification	Categorizes livestock animals into Ruminants, Non-ruminants, and Poultry using a clear blackboard chart.	Participate in grouping named animals under the correct categories on the board.
Step 5: Evaluation & Summary	Summarizes the main points and asks evaluation questions to test student comprehension.	Answer questions orally and write down the home assignment.
